    Is it possible to run Oracle on Linux?

    Previously this was a big issue. A couple of people reported that it was possible, but not totally seamless to install the SCO UNIX versions of the Oracle7 RDBMS on Linux. However, Oracle did not support such a configuration.

    Oracle recently released their Oracle8, Oracle8i and Application Server software on the Linux Intel platform. This decision was made after some major database vendors like Sybase and Informix reported that they will make their database software available on Linux.
