Starting your career in as an Oracle Professional is not that difficult. The following section will provide some guidelines:

The best book for beginner is the "Oracle Server Concepts Guide". This manual is part of the Oracle documentation set that is available on the documentation CD and in hard copy format.
Buy a good Oracle Reference Guide and study it. For Oracle DBA's, get one of the "Complete References" from Oracle Press. See the Oracle Books FAQ for details.
Get as much hands-on experience as you can on 'real' Oracle databases. You can even try to installed Oracle at home on a Linux or NT box and play around with it.
Get a job. Try to find a company that is prepared to train you.
