    What is Oracle Book?

An end-user tool for creating and viewing online documents, such as manuals, catalogs, documentation, and other materials. Arranges data in a form that can be manipulated, and includes sound, image, and video capabilities. Also provides hypertext links so that users can access more detailed information. Supports word or phrase searches and provides electronic annotation through text, image, or sound. Can integrate with Oracle's Cooperative Development Environment 2 and other programming environments to provide context-sensitive, online help systems, or to call out from documents to related programs. Platforms include Windows, Macintosh, OS/2, Motif, character-mode, Windows NT, Unix, and VMS.

  • Should I use Oracle Book or not?

NO!!! If you can avoid it, please do so.

There are much better ways to prepare on-line documentation. Even Oracle distributes their documentation in HTML and PDF (Adobe Acrobat) formats these days.
