ah, i'm most likely wrong then...was just reading the part labled "directing
error log messages to syslog". I assumed that meant the whole message, not
just the header. This from ibm's "General Programming Concepts: Writing and
Debugging Programs" on the ibm documentation site.

Well, this may just be semantics -

That odm entry will only pass ONLY the errpt header line to syslog, not the
detailed information. To me that's not very useful. When Bruno ask if he
could make errpt write to the syslog I assumed he was looking for more
detail. Perhaps I assumed wrong (wouldn't be the first time :-)

My point was I know of no way to get the same information contained in
errpt output to the syslog (without some type of script to capture the
detailed output and outputting it with the logger command - but Bruno
didn't seem to want to go that route).
