RA3000 shutting down sequence

Hello Managers,
we have RA3000 base module and an expansion module connected to Alpha4100
server. We have a plan of shifting the servers and RAID boxes.
Pls let me know shutting down procedures and again powering on procedures,
since last time we had lun no.'s missing in the expansion box (due to wrong
sequence i suspect)and restored back with great difficulty.
Pls give me in detail what will happen if I power-on expansion box first and
then base pedestal or vice versa.
