Hi,

Trying to figure out why my external disk
drive is not recognized by the kernel.

lmc-root) hwmgr -view devices
HWID: Device Name Mfg Model Location
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    4: /dev/scp_scsi
    5: /dev/kevm
   39: /dev/disk/floppy0c 3.5in floppy fdi0-unit-0
   48: /dev/disk/cdrom0c COMPAQ CRD-8402B bus-1-targ-0-lun-0
   49: /dev/disk/dsk0c COMPAQ BD009734A3 bus-3-targ-0-lun-0
   50: /dev/disk/dsk1c SEAGATE ST1181677LWV bus-3-targ-2-lun-0
lmc-root) hwmgr -show scsi

SCSI DEVICE DEVICE DRIVER NUM DEVICE FIRST
HWID: DEVICEID HOSTNAME TYPE SUBTYPE OWNER PATH FILE VALID PATH
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
   48: 0 lmc cdrom none 0 1 cdrom0 [1/0/0]
   49: 1 lmc disk none 2 1 dsk0 [3/0/0]
   50: 2 lmc disk none 2 1 dsk1 [3/2/0]
   51: 3 lmc disk none 0 1 (null)

The disk in question is HWID 51. At the >>> prompt, I can see the
disk being detected properly but it doesn't show up as /dev/disk/dsk2x.

Please help if you have any suggestion. Thanks.
