System won't boot serial console

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong here. I set console to
serial and I'm trying to run the Tru64 5.1a install through a null modem
connection. I have a good connection to the P00 prompt.

When I tried the first time, I got to the "jumping to bootstrap
code", text output stopped and it started writing to the VGA monitor. So, I
powered it off, unplugged the keyboard, powered it back on, and it came up
with a text console and no output to the monitor. Now when I try to boot,
it gets to "jumping to bootstrap code" and I get nothing else. The CD is
flashing like it is still working.

Maybe there is something that I haven't set correctly? I tried
changing com1_modem and it makes no difference.

Here are the settings. Thanks for any input.
