DLT 2000 and 4.0e

Trying to get a DLT2000 drive setup on an Alphaserver DS-20 with 4.0e

I used mknod to create an entry in /dev using the formula I found in an
earlier post. However, I have a sneaky suspicion that major number 9 is
either wrong or the driver doesn't support DLT2000. (I used major 9) After
trying to get a status from the drive I get an extended error:

/*
mknod /dev/rmt2 c 9 102400 # (scsi id 4 bus 6 )
mknod /dev/nrmt2 c 9 102400 # (scsi id 4 bus 6 no rewind)

mt -f /dev/rmt2 status

It does briefly access the tape drive then spits out the message.

Thanks!

Tyler.
