fstab problem, won't boot - help.

Hey there -
Here's the problem, I removed a ufs volume and added it to an advfs set. I stupidly forgot to remove the ufs entry from the fstab.
 
So, when the system (shich is a 4.0G alpha 4100) reboots, it chokes on the entry :
 
/dev/rz29c /disk11 mount line in fstab.
It fails and dumps me into single user mode, telling me to run fsck manually. I would just coment out the line from fstab, however in single user mode I cannot open the fstab file in write mode. I am at loss as to what to do at this point.... i just need to remove this line from fstab... ugh.
