Ok, ES40, Tru64 5.1 patch 3.
I was just looking over the machine specific notes for Informix Dynamic Server
9.30.FC1X6, and it suggests some changes to the sysconfigtab file, which is
fine. Then it goes on to say you may want to adjust two values in the
/sys/conf/<SYSTEM-NAME> file. These values are:
maxvas
maxdsiz
and there values should both be:
9223372036854775807
quite a big number, no?
Now I've looked at this file--and I just don't see these values anywhere (making
it quite difficult to adjust indeed). These machine notes are supposedly for TU
5.1, but I'm wondering if something has changed? I know there is a "vm_maxvas"
under the VM subsystem in the kernel...is that the same thing? Do I just add
these two variables to the file? And if I did would I just need to rebuild the
kernel after? Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA
