sendmail log file question

Does anyone know about any scripts or programs that have been written that
process the sendmail mail.debug file? I was looking for something I could
run against this log file that would give me a clean output of emails that
have been sent (time, who sent it, and a few other straight-forward things).

The log file as it appears now appears to contain a lot of unwanted stuff
(for me, anyway!).

Alternatively, is the format of this file documented anywhere?
