To All

I have an issue with a V480 running Solaris 9, veritas 3.5 with an
attached D2 and tape drive. It seems, periodically and without warning, the
system halts and the wrench lite is activated. I've run VTS on the system
to no avail, savecore isn't being dumped (because the system straight out
halts without syncing) and /var/adm/messages is free of any warnings or
PANICs. I've installed the lates "Recommended Patch Cluster" and the latest
OBP revision and still the same problem. I've read something in regards to
the memory riser board, but it stated that an amber light would appear if
there was an issue.

The portion of my syslog.conf I added in an attempt to catch this elusive
problem is as such:

*.err;kern.notice;auth.notice /dev/sysmsg
*.warning;*.info
/var/adm/messages
kern.emerg;kern.alert;kern.crit;kern.err;kern.warning
/var/adm/messages
kern.notice;kern.info;kern.debug
/var/adm/messages
auth.info;auth.notice
/var/adm/messages

Dumpadm is setup as such:

Dump content: kernel and current process pages
Dump device: /dev/dsk/c1t0d0s1 (dedicated)
Savecore directory: /export/home/savecore/
Savecore enabled: yes

Thanks in advance
