Greetings,
One of our servers won't maintain its hostname after a reboot. We had a bunch
of mysterious issues with the server recently, so I restored its root
filesystem from backup.
I have also run sys-unconfig and after a reboot the hostname didn't stick
either. I also manually went through all the files that Sun says to manually
set the hostname. Didn't stick.
All the necessary files like /etc/nodename, /etc/hostname.ge0 say the correct
server name, and I can type hostname <servername> and it sticks...until a
reboot.
Any ideas out there?
Thanks! Barbara
