Re: Console Access for Ultra5

Thanks for everyones response, a couple of things that I think I need to
point out:

I have no monitor or keyboard connected to this U5.
I was using the wrong port (// parallel) needed to connect to either
Serial A (db25) or B (db9) connector. Thanks to Crispin H. for pointing
me to the Sun System Handbook

I have tried both Serial A and B but still can't get this to work:
I have tried the following connectors:

DB9 to RJ45 that I use on my win box as well so the following is the
first setup I tested:
Serial B has DB9 to RJ45 Terminal connector connected to it and one on
COM1 of the laptop. They are connected with a RJ-45-to-RJ-45 rollover
console cable that I use to access my cisco switches as well.
Does this cable work for this setup as well? It is one of the skinny
flat cables with RJ45 connectors on each end.

The second connection I tried was:
Serial A has a DB25 to a RJ45 Terminal connector (also tried it with a
cyclades connector that I used for my e420r's & e220r's and it worked fine.)
Serial A on U5 and com1 on my laptop are connected with a RJ-45-to-RJ-45
rollover console cable that I use to access my cisco switches as well.

Any ideas? I am sure I am doing something wrong with the hardware I am
using :( but can't figure it out..

Thanks,
Simran H.
