Hello,
Thanks for all the replies... I still have one small problem though...
I started the ypbind process, and now 'ypcat passwd' works fine...
However, I still cannot login properly.
There's a user in the nismaps called "dan" and this user was also
duplicated on my client box (before it was a client), so I deleted this
user form the local passwd file on the client, and checked I could still
do 'ypcat passwd' and see him listed. I could.
I then typed "su - dan" and typed in the password I have on that username.
It didn't work...
bash-2.03$ su - dan
Password:
su: Sorry
bash-2.03$
Any ideas now?? The /etc/nsswitch.conf file has this line in it:
passwd: files nis
I assume this is vaguely correct...
Thanks for your help,
Richard.
