Re: Installing Solaris on different machine

Hi folks,

several people sent me this solution:

ok boot cdrom -s
# mount /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s0 (or right root filesystem) /a
# devfsadm -r /a -p /a/etc/path_to_inst
# umount /a
# halt
ok boot -r
...

Unfortunately this doesn't work... :-(
I can't mount the root fs, because the devices in /dev and /devices point to
completely wrong targets. "boot -r" doesn't solve this problem.
Furthermore, a "probe-scsi" finds the drives, "format" doesn't.
Any good ideas?
