What am I doing wrong? Netra X1 Hangs On Network Install Of Solaris 9

Hi Folks,

I'm having a problem installing Solaris 9 on my Netra
X1. I've burnt 2 days on this issue with no resolution
in sight. I've gone thru sunsolve, docs.sun.com and
can't find anything to assist me.

I'm attempting to install Solaris 9 from an install
server. The configs are:

Install server
Ultra-10 / Solaris 8 (name: kingtut)

Netra X1 (name: monster)
Solaris 8, latest patch cluster applied
OpenBOOT 4.0.14 (patch applied)

Both machines are on the same subnet. Ultra-10 gets
its IP from a DHCP server. I've wired my IP address
(although I can get an IP from DHCP as well, but have
that disabled). I don't have control over the DHCP
server.

Steps I've taken:

1. Using setup_install_server/modify_install_server,
I've created the CD images on the Ultra 10.

2. Added 'monster' to the install server's hosts file
and the MAC address of monster to /etc/ethers on the
install server.

3. Used 'add_install_client monster sun4u' and get the
following:

making /tftpboot
enabling tftp in /etc/inetd.conf
starting bootparamd
starting nfs mountd
updating /etc/bootparams
copying inetboot to /tftpboot

4. On monster, I halt it, get to ok> and do 'boot
net'.

5. However, this is where it hangs (below). It seems
that it loads up 24000 bytes(?) and then stalls. I
have to physically power down monster to regain any
control.

Sun Netra X1 (UltraSPARC-IIe 500MHz), No Keyboard
OpenBoot 4.0, 512 MB memory installed, Serial
#50670302.
Ethernet address 0:3:ba:5:2a:de, Host ID: 83052ade.

Executing last command: boot net
Boot device: /pci@1f,0/ethernet@c File and args:
24000
-- hangs here (i.e. over 5 minutes) --

Does anyone know what I've done wrong or a step that
I'm missing?
