Hi,
I need to import a lun with existing data on a Sun box with Solaris 8
and Sun Volume Manager (Disksuite).
This box is connected to an Ibm SVC (San Volume Controller) with flash
copy functionality.
Goal is to make a flashcopy of a vdisk (on the production server, also
Sun, Solaris 8 with Disksuite)
and import/mount this flashcopy to another Sun box, so that we can put
it on tape.
Anyone an idea how to do this?
Cannot find anything in the Ibm documentation about this.
Currently we are using Emc Timefinder/Bcv with Veritas Volume Manager,
but this will be replaced by Ibm storage with Sun Volume manager on the
box.
The steps we take with Veritas Volume Manager on our backupserver are:
vxdctl enable
vxdg -tC import testdg
vxrecover -g testdg -sb
vxprint -ht -g testdg
mount -F vxfs -o ro /dev/vx/dsk/testdg/vol01 /backup_mnt/hostname/test
Can we do similar like this with Sun Volume Manager?
