Hi Sun managers
I have a network issue with one of backup interface unable to talk to my
master backup server and media server. (3 systems in all). I have a
client system mr-01 and I have a media server med01 and master server
mst01
1. I am able to ping and traceroute to the media server (med01) and
master server (mst01)
2. But I am unable to ping/traceroute to the backup interface of
the client. It is at 192.168.49.106
This is what I have done so far
>From the client. (mr-01)
#ifconfig qfe5 192.168.49.106 netmask 255.255.255.0 up
#ifconfig -a ( the interface on the client is up)
#ping 192.168.49.106 ( able to ping it)
#route add -net 192.168.49.106 192.168.49.0 ( added the route )
#ping 192.168.49.0 ( able to ping it)
#ping med01 (able to ping it)
#ping mst01 ( able to ping it)
>From the master (mst01)
This is what I get
# ping mr-01-bu.wnsnet.attws.com
no answer from mr-01-bu.wnsnet.attws.com
# traceroute 192.168.49.106
traceroute: Warning: Multiple interfaces found; using 192.168.49.8 @
qfe2
traceroute to 192.168.49.106 (192.168.49.106), 30 hops max, 40 byte
packets
1 * * *
2 * *
And it is unable to reach the destination. I am unable to
ping/traceroute from the master/media server to the
client-backup-interface, but I am able to ping the hostname (mr-01) Any
help is appreciated.
Thanks
