FOLLOWUP: Should sendmail be running to send mail out?

That's right, but AT and CRON can't send mails without SENDMAIL
configured and running. The OS user receives the mail, but when the
~/.forward file is read, appears this entry in /var/log/syslog:

Feb 20 12:14:06 dunland sendmail[28456]: [ID 801593 mail.info]
k1KBE673028456: from=root, size=232, class=0, nrcpts=1,
msgid=<200602201114.k1KBE673028456@dunland.cjap.junta-andalucia.es>,
relay=root@localhost
Feb 20 12:14:06 dunland sendmail[28456]: [ID 801593 mail.info]
k1KBE673028456: to=root, ctladdr=root (0/1), delay=00:00:00,
xdelay=00:00:00, mailer=relay, pri=30232, relay=[127.0.0.1] [127.0.0.1],
dsn=4.0.0, stat=Deferred: Connection refused by [127.0.0.1]

Will someone please clarify why this happens ?

Thanks.
