CDE logout problem

Dear managers,

Connected to a remote host (hence using an Ultra 1 running Solaris 9 as an x
server), I'm having a problem using with logging out from CDE:

- When I first click the Exit button to logout + confirming it, nothing
happens. Windows I open at this stage will have a different colour/look&feel
:(
- When I click to exit again, I get a "Action: ExitSession [Error]" box with
"The request to service this action has failed for the following reason:
TT_ERR_NO_MATCH There is no running program to handle this message, nor is
there a static ptype to start such a program. Check whether the
applicatio...<truncated>".

I'm not sure if it's relevant, but enabling dt logging gives the following
in the startlog:
--- Tuesday May 18 14:16:33 EST 2004
--- /usr/dt/bin/Xsession starting...
--- Xsession started by dtlogin
--- starting /usr/dt/bin/dtsession_res -load -system

--- sourcing /usr/dt/config/Xsession.d/6052.starmenus...
--- could not read /home/ng/.login

--- starting /usr/dt/bin/dsdm &
--- session log file is /home/ng/.dt/sessionlogs/remote_DISPLAY=local:0
--- DTSOURCEPROFILE is 'true' (see /home/ng/.dtprofile)
--- execing /usr/dt/bin/dtsession with a /bin/tcsh login shell ...
--- starting desktop on /dev/pts/61
/usr/dt/bin/ttsession[11514]: starting
/usr/dt/bin/Xsession[764]: 11503 Hangup

The remote host has Solaris 9 112233-12 installed, and I think this problem
happened after I've updated it with some security patches etc (not sure). So
far, I tried updating the xserver with the updated CDE patches but it
doesn't seem to help. Where should I look out for more information about
this problem? Btw, I have vnc on the remote host, but am not using it in
this case at all.

Thanks very much in advance.
