NFS problem

Hello,

I'm having an odd problem with an NFS client at a remote site. Both client
and server are Solaris 8. The client mounts a directory over NFS in /etc/vfstab like this:

xxxx.umn.edu:/backup/acct - /acct nfs - yes bg,intr,nosuid

>From time to time, due to either network problems load on the NFS server,
we'll see:

Mar 10 02:16:30 yyyy.umn.edu nfs: [ID 333984 kern.notice] NFS server xxxx.umn.edu not responding still trying

and the mount hangs. We can umount the mount, but cannot mount it (or
anything else from that server). Other NFS mounts to other servers
continue to work. A reboot clears the problem, but that's
a really crude way of fixing things.

I've tried /etc/init.d/nfs.client stop/start.

Does anyone have an idea on how to clear this without the rebooting? I'll
summarize.

Thanks.
