Hi Managers,
I have two mirrored disks, /var is getting full, 99%. Solaris 8, e4500.
/dev/md/dsk/d40 /var
/dev/md/dsk/d50 /opt
4 var wm 1584 - 1755 301.59MB (172/0/0) 617652
5 opt wm 1756 - 4858 5.31GB (3103/0/0) 11142873
I'm planning to remove portion of slice 5 to give it to /var, break
mirror, modify file system layout, ufsdump, restore. I'm wondering if I
can take only one reboot to finish the task without taking significant
downtime to reboot from CDrom to modify the filesytems.
What steps/details/commands/caveats should I watch for here?
Thanks in advance, I will summarize.
Meg
