Disksuite upgrade between solaris 7 & 8.

Hi All,

I am preparing to upgrade a Solaris 7 server to Solaris 8,
the chosen method is to build Solaris 8 from scratch....
The root and oracle disks are mirrored with Disksuite 4.2 on Solaris 7

I want to remove one Oracle disk from its Mirror, & replace with a
spare disk & resync, then take the oracle disk and place it into a
Solaris 8 server and bring it under the wing of Disksuite 4.2.1

If I remove the metadb info off the disk, returning the disk to a
'raw' state, am I right in thinking I can then mount that disk on a
solaris 8 server and introduce it to disksuite 4.2.1?

Can someone please tell me a GWP for this procedure (I think it would
be safer to remove a disk from disksuite first, unmount it, then down
the drive (is that poss in solaris) remove it from the solaris 7 box,
and then mount it on solaris 8. - some one did suggest to me that I
could just pull the live disk, mount it else where and remove the meta
db info, but that sounds too harsh for me!!!!

TIA

Simon
