Hi Guru,

I have a user account and the umask was set to 007 in
the user .profile file. When he run the script
on the command line, the log file is able to create to
the correct permission that is 660.

However, when he put the script in the cron job. The
log file was created with permission
644 instead of 660.

There was a umask 027 set in the /etc/profile file as
well.

I would like to know what could be the possible reason
the log file was set in such permission when the
scropt was triggered by the cron job. In this case,
cron job should pick up the umask from /etc/profile or
from the
user .profile?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Tim
