Hi All,
I was wondering if anybody else had the same experiences we have had using
an L20 tape robot with 2 DLT drives. About once every so many weeks our
backups fail because the tape positioning mechanism fails and the robot
needs to be recalibrated. About twice a year even recalibration fails and
parts need to be replaced to make it work again, about the entire interior
of the stupid things have been replaced by now. We own them for about two
years but in my opinion they have caused a lot more trouble than one can
expect of a device this expensive. Does anybody else share my opinion? What
are other admin's experiences in how often a L20 needs to be recalibrated?
