Do any of you think that sun will offer to upgrade L9 autoloaders to use
an LTO gen 2 tape drive? I noticed that their L8 and L25 autoloaders are
now available with LTO gen 2 drives. I wouldn't mind being able to double
my storage capacity without having to buy an entirely new autoloader. As
our storage needs increase in direct proportion to our budget decreasing I
need to find ways to save money.
I suppose that since the L9 isn't on store.sun.com anymore that it's
eol'ed to some degree so this is probably a longshot.
Does sun offer upgrades like this to any other storage products as new
tape technology comes out?
