Vol Manager Submirror doesn't boot

Hello everyone,

I have an Ultra5 with 2 identical IDE disks which
act as submirrors in a RAID-1 configuration. As I
was running some emergency drills, I noticed that
if I physicaly remove the second submirror the first
submirror boots ok (into single user mode though, but
that's expected) . But if I remove the first submirror,
the second submirror refuses to boot and gives a kernel
panic! I tried to google around and I found a couple of
questions in sunmanagers, but I could not find any summary.
So if anyone knows what gives, I will be happy to summarize.

(You can see that it can find the / partition and the kernel,
but something goes wrong afterwards. )
I tried to boot -a and change /pseudo/md@0:0,0,blk into something
like /pci@1f,0/pci@1,1/ide@3/disk@2,0 but to no avail.
I suppose I could boot a cd into sigle user mode and mess around
with the vfstab, but that would be besides the point as the
right solution is to have a mirror disk that is ready to boot
*anytime*

thanks in advance,
Thanassis
