UPDATE: Reading DVD+RW udfs media on Sun DVD (Toshiba)

Ok, now that I'm hopefully past the stupidity (vold was running),
my new question is why 'vold' won't mount DVD+RW media automatically?

(And again, why 'vold' mounts DVD+R media mode 444?)

Subject: Reading DVD+RW udfs media on Sun DVD (Toshiba)

We're using Sun's DVD-R drives (Toshiba SD-M1401 Revision: 100)
and can read both DVD-R[W] and DVD+R media fine, in both hsfs and
udf formats.

But I can't get DVD+RW media in udf format to mount, I get the dreaded:

cressida:/home/foster) mount -F udfs -o ro /dev/dsk/c0t6d0s0 /mnt
mount: /dev/dsk/c0t6d0s0 is already mounted, /mnt is busy,
or allowable number of mount points exceeded

(none of these conditions are true, and I get the same thing using -o rw).

According to a hardware compatibility list I found:

http://www.dvdplusrw.org/resources/compatibilitylist_dvdvideo.html

I should be able to read DVD+R and DVD+RW media in my Toshiba drive.

Anyone else having this problem?

Interestingly, when we mount DVD+R udf media in these drives
it gets mounted 444...any idea why? This is most unfriendly!

Thanks and I'll be sure to summarize.

Dave Foster
