Well, I think it is time to add my 2 cents. The US Government, at least the
DoD, has mandated that its entire contracting workforce in Information
Assurance (Technical and Managerial) be certified (
http://iase.disa.mil/8570FAQAug05FINAL.doc ). Which I guess is a boon to
ISC2, but in my opinion will simple add a lot of useless
certified-but-useless people to the workforce. I still believe that a BS/MS
and daily practice in the end carries more weight than a cert.
