RE: re CISSP-ISSMP

Not only DoD is doing that, but for government contractors, it's a
contract requirement. When the government sends out RFPs for security
work, they almost always have CISSP, CISM, or CISA listed for every team
member. For us, it's just a badge of office.

When you evaluate your workers against the GSA rate, you rate them based
on years of experience and education. Certs add to their education
level, so you really end up getting more money for people who have
certifications.

As you can see, I've had a couple glasses of the cool-aid. =) I work
with tons of people who couldn't make it past the ISSEP (only 230 or so
have made it), it's a rough one to get, but it is very applicable to
what I do--specialist in C&A and government IA regulations.

Personally, though, I don't have a degree (working on fixing that), but
I do have the experience, and that helps.

Cheers
