Fellow SAs:
I have an exported Samba Share. I am able to map it on
my laptop and acces files.
When I try to modify a file and try to save it, it
saves the first time. But, when I further modify and
try to save it, it changes the permissions and
converts it to read only file. I tried copying several
word and Excel Files which were set originally to
"-rwxrwxr-x."
After I modified it, the file permissions changed to
"-r-xrwxr-x+ ".
I dont know how it got the "+" suffixed. Has it got
something to do with ACL etc.? I haven't included
anything related to ACL in my smb.conf file.
Here is the smb.conf file:
[bckppo02]:/export/UnixShare # cat
/etc/opt/samba/smb.conf
# Samba config file
# Global parameters
[global]
server string = FIRSTSRV
security = USER
encrypt passwords = yes
log file = /var/opt/samba/log.%m
smb passwd file = /etc/samba/smbpasswd
[unixshare]
comment = UNIXSHARE
path = /export/UnixShare
valid users = test1,test23,test3,test2
read only = No
[firstsrv]:/#
