Hello admins.
We want add two new rp4440 servers on an existing SAN. After configuration we
see no disks.
The environment:
2 rp4440 servers, each with two Tachyon XL2 Fibre Channel Mass Storage cards,
2 fabrics, each with 2 brocade fc switches, firmware version 3.2.0a,
connectted on 2 IBM ESS Sharks.
The configuration:
Fabric 1:
FC1, Ports 12,13: Shark1
FC1, Port 5: rp4440 1, hba1
FC2, Ports 2,3: Shark2
FC2, Port 5: rp4440 2, hab 1
Fabric 2:
FC1, Ports 2,3: Shark 1
FC1, Port 5: rp4440 1, hba 2
FC2, Ports 2,3: Shark 2
FC2, Port 5: rp4440 2, hba 2
The procedure:
We have defined port zoneing and added the zones to the configuration.
On the sharks we have assigned disks to the servers and the related WWNs.
Verification:
ioscan -fnC fc shows:
fc 0 0/4/2/0 td CLAIMED INTERFACE HP Tachyon XL2 Fibre
Channel Mass Storage Adapter
/dev/td0
fc 1 0/5/1/0 td CLAIMED INTERFACE HP Tachyon XL2 Fibre
Channel Mass Storage Adapter
/dev/td1

So we thought, that everything seems okay but ioscan -fnC disk doesn't show
any disks
from the shark. So waht's wrong here. SHould we have forgotten something?
Thanks in advance
Wolfgang
