Hello!
This is a stab in the dark, but hopefully turns something up.
Current I have a Zebra printer Z105 hooked up to our HPUX server via an
(external) JetDirect and a parallel->serial converter.
It sat for a long time waiting to be rolled out for production use.
Every time the occasional job was sent to the queue, it worked, without
having to reset the devices first.
Now that it has been rolled out to production, it seems to randomly
freeze up and the jobs are held in the Unix queue.
When working normally, doing an LP stat yields these results:
$ lpstat l_ship_bar_1
printer queue for l_ship_bar_1
JetDirect lpd: no jobs queued on this port
RP2470: l_ship_bar_1: ready and waiting
no entries
$
However, when the jobs jam up in the queue, doing an lpstat yields
slightly different results, almost as if the jetdirect is going offline
or sending an incorrect signal to HPUX.
$ lpstat l_ship_bar_1
printer queue for l_ship_bar_1
Active connection from 172.16.20.20
RP2470: l_ship_bar_1: ready and waiting
no entries
$
If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
Thanks.
