Hello Admins,
No responses on this one but a colleague posted the same question on one of
the ITRC boards and got some responses. Most of them indicated that
reloading the firmware would reset any admin password. We are still
investigating that course of action. If anyone has done a reload of the
firmware on a 418 DLT Autoloader I'd appreciate any tips ;-)

A have a second user HP SureStore DLT Autoloader. The model is 418 and the
HP part number is C6280F.
The admin password was not reset to the default:
000-000-000
That's nine zeros - the hyphens are just for spacing on the front panel
display.
I found a PDF manual on the web at:

which advises in the trouble shooting chapter that if the admin password has
been lost to try 000-000-000 but if that doesn't work to seek assistance
from a service representative.
Does anyone know of another workaround? Is there a DIP switch on a system
board inside the unit to clear NVRAM or something like that?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
