This is a block size problem. I've seen this guy way too many times. Check
your adapter settings. Change block size to 0 if needed and retry.

Subject: problem with tctl-command after AIX migration to 5.1

Hi *,
I migrate one from our MCA wide nodes from AIX 4.3.3 to AIX 5.1. On this
node hangs over S/370 Channel Adapter two 3490E tape drives.

Now I check the tctl-command. Always runs fine, but not the rewind-, the
offline- and the rewoffl - subcommand. Read-, write-, status- and the rest
is o.k.

I get the following info, when I start tctl -f/dev/rmt0 rewind:

"/dev/rmt0 rewind 1 failed: A system call received a parameter that is not
valid"

The same result with mt - commands.

With tapeutil I can rewind and checkout the tape.

Any infos??? What can I do? Any additional commands which can I test?
