Yes, it is LVM mirroring, but no, there isn't a spare
slot.
There is no failing drive. My original intent was to
give more space to a file system by replacing a pair
of mirrored 4.5GB drives with a pair of 9GB drives,
using the procedure suggested by Mr. Baker. However, I
have since discovered that each of the 16 drives had
25 free PPs, which was enough space for our needs. I
enlarged the LV and then the file system. But it is
good to know that I can replace the 4.5's with 9's if
needed in the future.
