simple tape drive question

I can't seem to find the answer on IBM.com, no matter what I look under
or search by... how do I use compression? I've got a system with all
these 0.X definitions for rmt0 and I can't find anything that tells me
what the mean.

This is the only thing I've found that's simpler in SUN's world -- using
/dev/rmt/0c compresses the backup.

TAPL3% ls -l rmt*
