Stephen,

Also consider any 3rd Party Applications whilst using this option.
Especially users who work with financial packages, as TMOUT is
specifically designed for those working within the shell.
You don't want to be logging someone out if they are in the middle of
updating their General/Nominal Ledger.

Subject: timeout value

All,

Is there a way to knock a user out of AIX that has
been inactive for a period of time? If not that, is
there a way to knock them off after a set period of
time? I'm wondering if there's a way to do this other
than by me scripting it.

Thanks!

-Stephen Spalding
