Qdaemon Problem,

Guys,

I have a question about a box running 4.3.2.0. It involves Qdaemon. When the system boots qdaemon is started from inittab with the following line

               qdaemon:2:wait:/usr/bin/startsrc -sqdaemon

What my problem is, is that when the process is started, it acts like it is dead. All print queues go to a dev_wait state. If I do a stopsrc -s qdaemon -f and kill the process, it dies with no problem. Then I do a startsrc -s qdaemon and the process is started again. Only this time it functions with no problems. I have coppid the path from the line in inittab and run it at teh command line to make sure that all teh pathing was fine. This is correct it starts up and runs with no prob. If anyone has any ideas or places that I could go to read up on it or file permissions tha tI should check, I would greatly appriciate it. If I am correct this problem has been going on for some time and originated from the system being updated from an older version of AIX.

Thanks

Bob.
