I have done it several times and it works like a charm! I have installed and removed SSA Cards hot on 6H1's on the fly and the system can handle it with no errors. It is very strait forward. Let me know if you have specific questions.

Subject: Using the PCI Hot Plug Option

Hi everyone,

Has anyone ever installed a PCI hot pluggable device on a running system? Any pitfalls I shoud avoid? I have a 7026-H80 and I am planning on moving/installing two PCI 4-Channel Ultra3 SCSI RAID (Type 4-X) from a couple of B50s to an 726-H80.

Or should I avoid this completely and do the old and reliable way, bring down the system and install the adapters. I prefer shutting the system down and installing.

Your input is always greatly appreciated.

Regards,
