A clarification:
The 64bit kernel is installed if the hardware is 64bit, but by default, only
the 32bit kernel is enabled.

Hi Admins,
I installed AIX 5L on K260 (64bit box). I used bootinfo -K it showed 32.
I used getconf WORD_BIT also 32. I checked I installed the bos.64bit
fileset.
And the /etc/inittab has the load64bit:2:wait:/etc/methods/cfg64
>/dev/console 2>&1
How can it tell the OS is running 64bit?
