The 6205 should not be a problem, you could replace it with a 6203 (4Y) card.
This is an ultra3 SCSI card. But I think this is a tangent. This should work
fine with a 6203 card, unless the card itself is bad.

What is the actual problem you see when you try to mirror rootvg?

Could you post the output from

lsdev -C -c adapter
and
lscfg -vl scsix where x is the address of the 6205 adapter
