Sendmail with smtp auth problem

We have compiled the sendmail 8.12.6 with cyrus sasl 1.5.27. When we run
the compiled sendmail binary we get the following error:

# sendmail -d0.1 -bv root
exec(): 0509-036 Cannot load program sendmail because of the following
errors:
        0509-150 Dependent module libsasl.a could not be loaded.
        0509-022 Cannot load module libsasl.a.
        0509-026 System error: A file or directory in the path name does
not exist.

Any help!
