Whether more DIMMs gives a performance advantage is dependent on the machine
architecture. Most of them probably won't give you any advantage.

Find the Service Guide for the p620 and check in Chapter 1: Reference
Information; there should be a section on System Memory which includes rules
on how to place memory cards for optimum performance. (At least, the couple
of manuals I've checked include such a section.)

The main reason most systems come with lots of little chips is because its
cheaper. A false economy, IMO, because of the effect on future upgrades.
