One reason to use hardware would be for hot spares. Although, I think 5.1
can now do that or was it some fix level of 4.3.3 too?

Subject: [aix-l] SSA performance

Hi!
Recently I looked into SSA planning guide.
In the performance section they claim, that for example LVM's stripping
and mirroring performance is higher than hardware? I'm completly
shocked. In that case there is no sense of using hardware raid, since
they are less flexible and perform worse, than LVM.
Any kudos?
