Good Day Managers,
We're currently experiencing a problem whereby some of our users are unable to login to the UNIX server. The specs of the server are as follows:
Model: AS 4100
Serial Number: NI83206670
O/S: Tru64 4.0F
Patch Kit: DUV40FB18AS0007-20020102
The problem is that when some users attempt to login they get the error message "login incorrect".
Running the "autochk" command gives us the following message for all users who are unable to login:
"<username> appears in Protected Password database but cannot be retrieved with getprpwent()"
We're using Enhanced Security so the usernames are not in the passwd file, but rather in a separate file for each user in the /etc/auth directory. A comparison of the files of users who are unable to login and those that still are does not show any visible differences.
Any assistance that can be given us would be greatly appreciated.
