(Smmary) Input silo overflow ?

This one has been a long time in coming. The reason I held back with
the summary is because I haven't quite fixed the problem but it is
improved some.

Most of the assistance came from Dr Tom Blinn. He pointed out that i
should check the gettydefs file for the definition on modem line. The
definition now looks like this:
M57600# B57600 HUPCL CS8 CRTSCTS # B57600 SANE IXANY TAB3 HUPCL
#login: #M38400

The CRTSCTS enables hardware flow control which is enabled on the
modem. It wasn't there by default.

As I said it hasn't completely removed the error but it is not as
frequent as before.

Hi Managers,

DS10, Tru64 5.1

/etc/remote:
b57600:dv=/dev/tty01:br#57600:pa=none:

I am getting the above message:
ace1: input silo overflow; status = 63 when a user makes a connection
to our server. The user tells me that the performance gets very slow
after a time I get a call to reset the modem.

The modem man page says I should use tip b57600 but this always fails
with: -> tip b57600 can't open log file connected # <press any key>
Lost carrier. [EOT]

So I am not sure if everything is correctly configured. I have a
/.tiprc in / which tip -v seems to read. I created an empty file for
the log in /var. I am running tip as root.

Does anyone know if there is something I can do about this error and
whether this tip problem is related?

Thanx.
