Admins,

I have a 3-node Cluster setup as follows:-

Cluster Name - MOE
Member 1 - JACK - ES40, 6Gb Ram 4 x 833 CPUs, IPADDRESS 193.#.#.# (this
server contains the internal boot disk that was used to create the
original cluster)
Member 2 - HARRIET - ES40, 3Gb Ram 4 x 500 CPUs, IPADDRESS 193.#.#.#
Member 3 - LARRY - ES45, 6Gb Ram 4 x 1Gb CPUs, IPADDRESS 193.#.#.#

Each server is running Oracle software but none of the applications are
currently using the Cluster alias - therefore downtime will be organised
to perform this change over. What I would like to do is swap over Member
1's HOSTNAME and IPADDRESS with Member 3's

Therefore the above would now look like this.......

Cluster Name - MOE
Member 1 - LARRY - ES40, 6Gb Ram 4 x 833 CPUs, IPADDRESS 193.#.#.#
(this server contains the internal boot disk that was used to create the
original cluster)
Member 2 - HARRIET - ES40, 3Gb Ram 4 x 500 CPUs, IPADDRESS 193.#.#.#
Member 3 - JACK - ES45, 6Gb Ram 4 x 1Gb CPUs, IPADDRESS 193.#.#.#

I have checked out the Best Practices and Cluster Administration docs
and it says that you must delete the member from the cluster and then
re-add it with it's new details.

Questions

1) Obviously as this is a swap over I would have to remove both members
before I can bring one of them up as the other?
2) By Removing Members 1 and 3 will the Cluster still run ok with only
Member 2?
3) By removing the Member 1 from the cluster will I get any problems
re-creating him by running clu_add_member from Member 2 to re-create
Member1 or will it only allow me to go forward (ie Member 3 will now be
created)?
4) Anything else that anyone can think of that may cause me a problem?

Thanks in advance

Andy
