Thanks to those that contributed.
Most people suggested putting an entry in /etc/aliases.
the second option was to create a .forward file in the home directory of
the user i.e. /
this could have multiple users on different lines. Although using a
mail group would be preferable in this circumstance.
option 3 was to "use a procmail rule (this allows selection and
filtering by subject, originator, or content and many other things"
